Jaq French, AMFT, APCC


Primary Therapist

Jaq is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist as well as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She received her undergraduate degree from New York University where she majored in Experimental theater. After which she had a career as an actor and dancer before transitioning to working with nonprofits in a variety of settings. They then returned to academia to obtain their graduate degree from California Institute of Integral Studies in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Expressive Arts Therapy, where they are also currently a professor.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in somatics, mindfulness, and narrative therapies while always remaining trauma informed and strengths based. Jaq has further training in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Polyvagal Technique, Gottman Therapy, Human Sexuality, and working with sexual trauma. Jaq has spent most of her therapeutic career working in substance abuse settings. They believe that each therapeutic relationship is unique and works to blend evidence-based practices with the specific needs and interests of each client.

Outside of their therapeutic work Jaq spends their time dancing, baking, or engaging with her arts and spiritual practices.
